Some pool into swimming areas. A few have camping areas nearby. Many are flanked by hiking trails. People tend to think of Niagara Falls as the state's tallest, mightiest waterfall, but there's one at Taughannock Falls State Park that's even bigger. The park's namesake waterfall has a foot plunge, which is three stories higher than Niagara Falls.
There's Enfield Falls, popular for its lifeguard-staffed swimming area. Those waterfalls aren't as powerful as some others; tourism officials suggest checking them out after a rainstorm for some added oomph. Cornell University , an Ivy League school located in Ithaca, can claim its own waterfall: Triphammer Falls, which is a foot multi-level fall, is located on campus at the intersection of Univeristy and East avenues.
